The Flying Man of Pocklington Festival
05/05/2017 - 07/05/2017
Allerthorpe, East Yorkshire
Come and be a part of the Flying Man Festival and enjoy the carnival atmosphere in the village. 2017 is the 14th Flying Man Festival held in Pocklington, near York, and it is all in honour of Thomas Pelling, the infamous 'Flying Man' who didn't manage to fly very far, apart from vertically, and sadly to his death. Competing as always for the Flying Man trophy - awarded to the pilot who flies the closest to the church tower. We have a huge launch and camping area at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park. All on-site overnight stays must be pre-booked and paid for. On site watersports are available too including sailing, kayaking, swimming in the lake (if you are brave enough), or take the more comfortable option, and watch from the warmth of the cafe.
