Apply for 8.33kHz radio funding now!

Balloonists who are BBAC members can find specific guidance in the BBAC Forum (it's in a 'sticky' at the top of the 'General' category) on completing an application form, what information is required, and where to find it.

Note 1: This EU Funding is on a first-come, first-served basis. You are advised to apply at your earliest opportunity.

Note 2: There is a waiting list for Icom radios (due to unprecedented demand!). You are advised to order your radio at your earliest opportunity.

Applying for 8.33 kHz radio funding

The CAA has secured 4.3 million of funding from the European Union's Connecting Europe Facility to encourage the early transition of the UK GA fleet to 8.33 kHz-capable equipment.

The funding will be distributed by way of reimbursal to aircraft owners or pilots to contribute toward the cost of new radio equipment. For more information on funding and to access the claim form see our 8.33 kHz funding application page:
