Brass Monkey Meet & Dinner

We are holding the Brass Monkey meet at a new venue, again; The Worsley Arms Hotel, Hovingham, York YO62 4LA. The flying will be taking place from the grounds of Hovingham Hall, which was built between 1750 and 1770 is the family home of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent. It is still in the hands of the Worsley family to this day; currently being home to Sir William Worsley, the great, great, great, great grandson of the builder who bought the Manor of Hovingham in 1563, and just to lay the War of the Roses to rest for a little while, the Worsley family were an old Lancashire family. The Hall is open to visitors too, and has beautiful architecture, graceful decoration and furnishings, and magnificent gardens. Please come along to join us for our annual event and prize giving. After dinner we are going to hold a mock auction again, just bring along all your items for sale, balloon related or not. Phil Traviss has his porter's coat at the ready, Alex has his gavel in his hand...... There will be a small charge of 10% of the final sale price (£1 minimum) to go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity. Closing date for registration/dinner orders will be Friday 17th February 2023 and all meals etc., must be paid for by this date.

Twenty bedrooms at the special rate of £95 per night for a double room, and £110 for a king sized room (king size beds can be 'twinned' if required). All include a full Yorkshire breakfast.

Dogs are welcome in the bar, public areas and rooms, just not in the main dining room.

Additional guests at breakfast can be accommodated but must be booked in advance. (Full breakfast to non-residents £16.00).
Flying info: If the weather is kind to us, we have a fantastic venue from which to launch - Hovingham Hall itself!
Competition: We'll think of something appropriate, and we may have a new little meet trophy too.
