Naburn Lock Meet |
September 19th, 20th and 21st saw the PRBA's annual Naburn Lock Balloon meet, held at Naburn Lock caravan park, just south of York.

What a good do!
We have had a great little meet with balloons flying and night glowing too.
The Splash and Dash trophy was contested by John Russon and Harry Stringer, both performing the required task, but as John had on board two other pilots, and another in the retrieve we felt that the committee flying must have been excruciating and therefore Mr R was a worthy winner! Well done John, and well done Harry too, who was the defending champion.
As always the camp site owners, Catherine and Peter, were thrilled that we managed to put on some sort of a show for their guests.
The quiz was won with an outstanding score of 49 1/2 out of 51, the worthy winners being Roger's Retrievers, well done team Marshall.
And talking of Team Marshall, the junior Marshalls held their own 'guess the number of conkers in the bag' task - and the winner was Jackie Bellaby with an exact guess. Well done Jackie! Conkers were then donated to the scaredy cats who don't like spiders to place in the corner of their rooms, including me, so fingers crossed that this works as this year we seem to be getting absolutely massive eight legged beasties prowling the living rooms of this green and pleasant land.
Thank you to everyone for making it a fun and friendly weekend.
Elaine
