Our Hot Air Balloon Meets - everyone welcome!
Below you will find listed our forthcoming meets, but please keep checking as the list will change when new meets are ready to be advertised. Our club meets are not restricted to club members, everyone is welcome.

There isn't a charge to attend our meets without a balloon, and it is just 10 registration with a balloon, there may be a small charge towards overnight stays in tents/caravans and motorhomes and this will be specified on the entry form. These need to be booked in advance please.

If you would like to join us, we ask that you register via the relevant meet entry form below under "Click for Entry form and Meet Info". This is simply so we can keep you up to date with what is going on and to let you have further details as necessary.

The closing date for entries is usually the Saturday prior to the meet to allow us to finalise the details with the site. However, if you have left it too late and the deadline has passed by, don't worry, just get in touch and we will try to fit you in.

The Flying Man (and women) of Pocklington Festival 10/05/2019  - 12/05/2019
Pocklington
Come and be a part of the Flying Man Festival and enjoy the carnival atmosphere in the village.

2019 is the 15th Flying Man Festival held in Pocklington, near York, and it is all in honour of Thomas Pelling, the infamous 'Flying Man' who didn't manage to fly very far, apart from vertically, and sadly to his death.

Competing as always for the Flying Man trophy - awarded to the pilot who flies the closest to the church tower.

We have a new venue for our launch and camping area; The Mile caravan site, which is at the rear of The Mile Farm Shop (The Mile Farm Shop & Camping,
The Mile, Pocklington, York, East Yorkshire YO42 1TW)

Barbeque on site on Saturday evening with fun under the marquees until we all stagger home to our various forms of temporary abode!

On site are toilets, showers, washing up points, hard standing, electric hook ups, farm shop, cafe, childrens play area, and security gate for caravans.

All on-site overnight stays must be pre-booked and paid for please.

Henge Hoppers Meet 07/06/2019  - 09/06/2019
Kirklington, North Yorkshire
2019 is the 7th Henge Hoppers meet at the Camp Hill Estate and hopefully going from strength to strength.

Pilots are invited to compete for the fabulous Henge Hoppers trophy with a new twist on the challenge - the furthest away from the centre henge of the three Thornborough Henges will be the winner.

We have a camping area, or you could contact Camp Hill to find out if they have any yurts, hobbit pods, camping barns, teepees or domes still available to rent for the weekend. Camp Katur has been voted one of the top forty places to stay in the WORLD!

There is plenty to do on site when not flying, eating or sleeping - from 'Aerial Extreme' to Segways; from quad biking to water-zorbing.

IF THE WEATHER IS SUITABLE, DAN WILL BE HOSTING HIS TRAILER TOWING SKILLS TUITION AGAIN, AND WHO KNOWS, WE MAY EVEN MAKE A COMPETITION OF IT THIS YEAR!

All on-site overnight stays must be pre-booked and paid for please.

White Horse Meet 12/07/2019  - 14/07/2019
Thirsk, North Yorkshire
This is one of the longest running meets in our calendar, (2019 will be our 21st visit!) and we have great pleasure in inviting everyone along again to take part in the fun and friendly rivalry with the pilots trying their luck to win the White Horse trophy. Once again, our trophy is residing over the border in Lancashire, so come on Yorkshire pilots, let's get it back home this year!

As before, we have the usual well-drained camping and launch area.

The year we have a bit of fun on Saturday afternoon, the PRBA Fun Dog Show! Entrants can be canine, bovine, ovine, feline or even human. I suspect mainly dogs and humans will figure though (fancy dress IS essential for humans)! We will have lots of fun classes such as best treat catcher, longest tongue, waggiest tail, oldest 'dog', youngest 'dog', saddest eyes, quickest biscuit eater, a bit of agility perhaps...... you get the idea!

All on-site overnight stays must be pre-booked and paid for please.

Splash and Dash Meet ***NEW VENUE*** 20/09/2019  - 22/09/2019
Yedingham, North Yorkshire
We have decided to move away from Naburn Lock to give our meets a bit more variety, so this meet is now sort of condensed with the Autumn Gold meet, which has also moved!

The Providence Inn at Yedingham has a small campsite with an en suite pub! Address: STATION ROAD, YEDINGHAM, MALTON, NORTH YORKSHIRE YO17 8SL TELEPHONE: 01944 728093

Facilities available at the Providence Inn and campsite:

* Separate Toilet & Shower Blocks
* Washing Up Facilities
* Disabled Toilet & Shower
* 6 Letting Bedrooms @ 20 per room per night!!!
* Camping at 15 with electric hook up and 5 without.
* Fishing Rights in the River Derwent
* Pet Friendly (dogs, cats, goats, ponies, guinea pigs - bring whatever you like!)
* Children's play area

We are just up the road from Malton, and just down the road from Ebberston and the A170 which takes you to Scarborough, and Pickering and Thornton le Dale, which is the quintessential 'chocolate box' village and well worth a visit.

Bring your choice of tent, caravan or motorhome, or book an onsite room in the pub.

There is plenty of local accommodation too - check out welcometopickering.co.uk for a host of hotels, guest houses, B&B's etc. in Pickering and the surrounding area.

Why not come to the meet and make a week of it by staying on for Pickering's 1940s Wartime Weekend?

For the pilot who achieves the (best) S&D (or attempt), the Diver's Helmet trophy will be theirs to cherish (and polish) for the year!

John Russon won it two years on the trot - 2014 and 2015, with Malc Skilbeck stealing it from under his nose in 2016, the trophy was back in God's Own County for a year, then Derek Grimshaw took it back to Lancashire in 2017, so look out those Lancastrians we going to get it back again! Friendly rivalry only you understand!

All on-site overnight stays must be pre-booked and paid for please.

Autumn Gold (TRAINING MEET) **NEW MEET** 11/10/2019  - 13/10/2019
Hibaldstow Airfield
Members and friends of the PRBA have been invited to a weekend of fun AND training at Hibaldstow Aerodrome.

This is hopefully following along the lines of the Easter training meet with the possibility of a licence add for dropping meat bombs, and possibly RT licence too. Still TBC.

We will be based on the airfield (camping free of charge). There are also rooms available in the bunk house ranging from dorm style to family rooms. Showers, toilets, a cafe/restaurant, a bar
and lots of people jumping out of planes!

The rooms available to book are hot property so get in touch very quickly as they are booked up well in advance. Also, the village pub, The Wheatsheaf, have four double/twin rooms at around 65-70/night. Bargain! We have test driven the food there too and it was really good. Tel: 01652 659595 or email wheatsheafhotel@outlook.com, the landlord would love a flight by the way!

As well as training, get your competition hats on and compete for the Autumn Gold Trophy. The task is set by whoever won the trophy last year.

We haven't had a balloon meet in this area for a long number of years so come along and take advantage of a bargain weekend.

Humber Bridge Meet & Dinner 15/11/2019  - 17/11/2019
Based at the Percy Arms, Airmyn, Goole
PRBA's year-end meet, and being in November our flying hours are very sociable, so do come along for good company and a spot of flying.

This year we are going back to The Percy Arms in Airmyn, nr Goole (just off the M62). We can camp at the pub too.

Also at this meet we hold our annual Humber Bridge dinner - always a good night. 2013 saw out the evening with an impromptu paper plane fight; so in 2014 we held the PRBA paper plane challenge; 2015 we decorated and hovered helium balloons, 2016 we went a-raiding in fancy dress, arrrhh we were pirates. Lots of fun and big laughs with pirate jokes and limericks and some fantastic costumes! 2017 we decided to go with the theme right under our noses - at the Old School House Restaurant - so it was school dinners - naughty school children everywhere! Exams too! 2018, we had a giant elf making fabulous balloon creations for us.

2019????

We welcome everyone to join us for the Humber Bridge dinner whether coming to the meet or not, but we must insist on payment with your dinner order, please.
